    Days and night mixed up

I have a 2 month old baby that seems to have his days and nights mixed up. He sleeps all day for the baby sitter then is up all night for me. This is leading to sleep deprivation for me. How can I fix this?

Maybe you can talk to your babysitter about trying to keep him up longer during the day. Start out a little at a time and then after a few weeks he should be in a better routine. When my children both started this I would open up the blinds and start to play with them first thing in the morning, then put them down for a nap, get up and then feed and play until too cranky then. Hope this helps.

I agree I would tell the babysitter to try to keep him up more during the day. She will just have to play with him more and not just hold and rock him.

It could be that the babysitter is lazy so she wanted the baby to sleep on her watch. You can tell your babysitter to not let the baby sleep so he can sleep at night.

Welcome to the world of new babies. A large number of them do this and takes about 3 to 4 months before they begin to regulate their sleeping schedules. Do not force it - they will slowly but surely begin to sleep at the correct times and by the time they are 6 months old - they will have stopped waking up at night for a night time feed.

Yeah, talk to the babysitter that she does not make the kid sleep during the day time. Also SleepyMe has a good point here that babies take few months to come to the normal routine of sleeping. Anyway, once consult a child specialist about it before forcing the kid to keep awake in the day time.

Babies don't mix up days and nights. Whenever they feel tired, they sleep. Their sleeping and being wake is a natural process and it is not according to time or day and night. No need to worry. Gradually they will change.

I would talk to the babysitter. She can make it so that she's playing a little more and keeping him up. Of course theirs time for a nap and such, but just so she knows that its becoming a problem and we're trying to fix it . you know?
