Do not use sleeping time as a threat

Never threaten to send the children to bed if they have been naughty or have done something wrong. This makes them associate sleeping with punishment and will stop them from going to bed when they need to. Bedtime should be enjoyable - not a punishment.

This is so so true. Too many parents threaten to send the children to bed if they do not listen to them. The bedroom is not a punishment zone - it is a place to sleep and rest and do everything else. Punish them in different ways - but do not make the bed a symbol of threats and anger.

This is really very well said and all parents should take this into note. Sleep should always be an enjoyment and not a punishment. Kids may tend to get sleeping disorder if such things continue for longer period.

Yes, very well said. This may have side effects among children and that may result in disorder.
