Any ideas to safely encourage vivid dreaming?

Hi there, I just want to know hoe everyone else views this idea, and if anyone else has carried it through. I used to eat foods high in sugar just right before going to sleep. This would SOMETIMES cause me to dream very very vividly. A couple of times I woke with the runs, so i decided to visit my GP to see if it was a good idea. Apparently thsi puts a lot of stress and strain on your digestive system and is very bad for you. Someone suggested wearing an eye mask just before sleeping. Apparently the less light, the better you can sleep... ? They have also experienced some very vivid, realistic dreams when wearing one. I bought one two weeks ago and have worn it 5 times, no luck yet, but I do sleep much longer in the mornings... which is not great. I bought a really thick, heavy mask to really block the sunlight out.. http://www.eyemasked.co.uk/index.php...zzy-black.html

Does anyone else here use an eye mask for vivid dreaming? Many thanks.

By vivid dreams do you mean lucid dreaming? There are many ways to try and enter a lucid state of dreaming. Firstly ask yourself the question "am i awake or am i dreaming" over and over during the day- this makes it more likely that you will do the same in your sleep. Secondly concentrate on one activty in the run up to sleep - this way you are more likely to repeat this activity in your sleep and combined with the first should mean you become aware of it.

An easy way to enduce lucid dreaming (control your dreams)
Pinch your arm every hour or so, and when u pinch urself ask yourself what time it is? Go look at the clock. Close your eyes, think of another time, open your eyes, if the time on the clock changed you will instantly teleport into your dreams ( I do this about twice a week) and it is all subconsciously. Pretty powerful stuff.

P.S. When you "teleport" into your dreams you will have FULL CONTROL and if you want something to happen all u have to do is close your eyes, and think of it try it!!!

There are actually many books and articles on lucid dreaming. I used to really wanted to learn how to do it, but the process was simply too much for place i was in in life at that point. The vivid dreams that you might be talking about actually sound more like the dreams that people generally do not wish to have. Those kinds of dreams happens when you eat before sleeping, consume drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. I mostly dislike my vivid dreams since they are normally about something bad.

Studies by an Australian university show that controlling the temp and humidity you sleep at will keep you in stage 4 and 5 (REM) cycles more consistantly throughout your nights sleep. We've had a lot of customers coment on how their new wool duvets and pillows help them to have a lot more dreams!!

Things like sleep environment are the most important for this. Music, lighting, temperature, humidity, and even location can all have different effects on lucid dreaming.
