Lucky me that I don't have to do this. I only drink water if ever I feel like hungry in the middle of the night. I don't know if this is bad for your health but eating in the middle of the night will just add more weight to you.
Do you wake up in the middle of the night and have a snack? There are a few times where I would wake up in the middle of the night because I'm hungry and I would eat something in order for me to go back to sleep.

I don't have the habit really of waking up in the middle of the night. Even if I sometimes do get up during the night it is just to check the time or go to the bathroom, so no I have never had the chance to have a midnight snack. Even if I wanted to I would haveto brush my teeth first which would take a really long time and then wouldn't be able to go back to sleep in that case.
I have occasionally gone and had some fruit at night to satisfy my hunger pangs - but I find that it makes me even more wide awake and does not help me to go back to sleep. But if I have a cup of warm milk instead then I feel better and relaxed and have a good sleep after that.
this is a bad idea
there are plenty of recommendations not to eat few hours before going to sleep
and so it is logical also not to eat if you wake up in the middle of the night, because then the digestive system has to kick in and go back to work on a full efficiency thus damaging your sleep
I have eaten a snack in the middle of the night before such as a peanut butter jelly sandwhich, but it too makes me more awake then before so I try to stay away from eating during and right before the night.

I think it' better to drink some water instead of eating in the middle of the night, though drinking a lot of water before going to bed is also not so good.
