Which is better - light sleep or deep sleep

I have seen many people having light sleep and others having deep sleep. But both get up fresh in the morning. So, which is better, one who can wake up even with the slightest noise or the one who cannot even somebody is trying to wake up.

Hmm. Both are good if you wake up fresh in the morning. If you get good sleep for even four hours at night that is enough. A break in the sleep after four hours and again you go to sleep is good.

If a person is sleeping in a stressful situation, such as a house with young children or a baby in it, then a deep sleeper would be a better sleeper. Someone who can't be woken up easily would have a much better night than someone who is woken up by the slightest thing.

Good point here. It is very important to have deeper sleep if he or she has to sleep among noises such as when kids are at home, or the house is beside noisy highway, or the house or sleeping area is inside the campus of a factory that makes sound due to machines.

I feel that deep sleep is better than light sleep. Even if your sleep cycle is 4 hours but deep then it is better than sleeping more than 6-7 hours of light sleep.

Yes, truly said. Night is made for deep sleep and in day time light sleep is enough.

Oddly enough, when I only sleep a few hours, I feel more rested than I do when I go back to bed several times after waking. I think the body may start producing melatonin throughout the morning causing me fatigue.
