hi there, do u exercise often or drink plenty of water everyday?![]()
Hey there
I choose this subforum because I do not know if I have a sleeping disorder, but want to find out more about why certain things happen when I sleep.
I will describe it all and hope that someone knows or recognizes something, I am desperate to find out what is wrong, and even more desperate to find out how to fix it.
The first and most important problem to describe is that I am always tired, 'always' tired. And on some days in such extreme ways that I really dont know how to do the things that I should do. It makes me desperate and very down and frustrated, because I really want to live life fully, but I absolutely cant, at all..
This tiredness is here for years already, to me it seems that it started somewhere around 16, I am now 27.
The doctor did not find anything, always tells me its stress. So its not a lack of iron, or another 'easy to point' physical problem.
I often tend to sleep pretty long, 9/10 hours usually, sometimes even longer. When I dont do that I get too tired to be able to do anything of use.
I do not have problems with falling asleep, I fall asleep quickly and easily. As far as I know I do not sleepwalk or snore. And I often seem to wake up in pretty much the same position as I fell asleep in.
When I wake up:
This is terrible, waking up is painful. I always wake up with pain in my muscles, bones, stomach and sometimes head. I feel 'terribly' drowsy, so much that I cannot stand up often. And if I do I need to hold on to a wall or furniture to be sure that I do not fall over or bump into stuff. I know being a bit sleepy after waking up is normal, but this does not feel normal 'at all'. It feels like lots is wrong in my body and is asking for attention but I cannot figure out what it needs. It actually feels like I am a really old woman, 80 years old with old bones and muscles, and pain. The only 'signal' of the body that is clear in that moment is that I always feel overheated when I wake up.
It usually takes about two hours before this overheated feeling/drowsy feeling in the morning passes. The pain subsides during the day.
I eat mostly healthy, I dont drink alcohol, dont smoke (never did, with both). My weight is about 60 kilo`s, which should be a normal weight. My blood pressure tends to be low according to to doctor, but he says its normal for my age. I am diagnosed with Tietze syndrome, but this should only cause pain close to the chest bone, and diagnosed with ADD. But I somewhere belief that if I could wake up normal and feel rested, the ADD symptoms might be way less..
I dont use any medication, only normal vitamins.
Does anyone know what all of this could be about? I am desperate, since the doctor simply thinks its stress. I dont belief it, but in the mean time nothing happens to cure it. My life is on hold.. for a long time already.
So any info, insight or idea is welcome.

Well you mentioned a lot of things that you need to look into. It sounds like you have unrefreshed sleep. First off, you need to find a better sleeping surface. If you sleep on an uncomfortable mattress then you will never get a good sleep. I would recommend not sleeping on surfaces that make you sink or get overheated. You need a firm mattress like an intellibed. Sleeping flat on your back or on an incline is the safest. Second, if you are feeling hot then this will ruin your sleep. So make sure you have the appropriate room temperature (maybe around 76 degrees). Third check into other unrelated pain such as fibromyalgia and get the appropriate medicine for it. If you feel stressed you might want to think about getting medicine like Cymbalta that takes care of both symptoms. So concentrate on solving these symptoms and getting a restful sleep and you will no longer feel tired all the time. I'm not a doctor so this is based off of my experience only.
