I have heard their is the mask or tubes that go to your nose that blow the air up so that you can breath. He should be able to talk to his doctor about the options he has.
Is their any other options other than the face mask you wear at bedtime? My dad was just diagnosed and he is a little claustrophobic so having something over his mouth and nose I don't believe will go over to well.

There are other alternatives as well but it will depend on the kind of sleep apnea he has. There are some oral appliances that are made to hold the jaw and tongue in place. That works well for some people.
I didn't know either of those. Thank you both very much. I will find out soon when his next appointment is and hope that he can get something that is non restricting!
I know what your father is going through. My husband doesn't even want to confirm that he has sleep apnea because he know the contraption and is afraid of it. I am going to tell him that there are other alternatives. I didn't know about the one that keeps the jaw in place.
