    Changing Sleeping Position

My father-in-law has sleep apnea and he change his sleeping position every now and then for him to breathe better. He acquired that trait through time and that is his remedy for this illness. Does changing position help in relieving the person from sleep apnea?

I think that changing sleeping positions could be very effective. For some reason the people I have met with Sleep Apnea all tend to sleep on their backs. If you can get them to turn onto their side or stomach it seems like they can breathe much better.

Yeah, changing your sleep positions is one of the ways to help with sleep apnea. I think it works especially well with obstructive sleep apnea.

If you are looking for a good sleep position try laying on your side. However, you do want to keep your head slightly elevated. This is one of the best potions for sleeping better and for your body.

Findig the may help someone but it depends on their type or stage of sleep apnea. As mentioned by lillia it can help for obstructive sleep apnea. However, if the person suffers from "central" or "complex" sleep apnea more detailed medical help may be required.
