    Sleep deprivation

I do not think I have ever suffered from sleep deprivation but it sounds unpleasant. What happens to the body in sleep deprivation and how long does that usually take?

Being sleep deprived is a little bit like being drunk. You will have slurred speech, movements and be more irritable. It can have some very serious side effects.

Lillia hit the correct answer. To add to the effects of sleep deprivation, your decisions are cloudy and you can't function well. Taking a rest , not a cup of coffee, will help in restoring you to your normal self.

Sleep deprivation can lead to hysteria or death if it is severe! It is not something to mess around with at all. I am feeling a little sleep deprived now but I plan on rectifying that right now.

It is very helpful and interesting topic for discussion, according to me i think that Sleep deprivation is A large proportion of the problem is due to the high paced lifestyle causing the lack of time to get the sleep we need.

I have been suffering from sleep deprivation for a while and am clearing seeing the affects and they are definitely not very favorable. It takes time to register things and your reaction to things sometimes becomes slower than otherwise. it's always better to try to overcome it before it becomes a serious issue.

Sleep deprivation can be of various types. Most of us have at some stage of our lives suffered from sleep deprivation - basically a lack of sleep. But it reaches the level of a disease when the person concerned is totally unable to sleep even with the help of sleeping aids. This affects their mental abilities and leaves them fatigued and worried most of the time.

i have always been sleep deprived when i was still in school (now i rarely experience it because i try my best to get as much sleep as i can since i am in a gap year travel planning stage anyway) so it was really tough. i was sickly, my immune system was weak and i am always irritable. it was tough.

As someone who is running on 3 hours of sleep right now, I can assure you that your thoughts won't be as clear. This is especially difficult if you're a student, or at work. For me, the most common symptoms are; headaches, anxiety, poor vision/speech, and feeling upset/angered easily.

    Good luck
