I am done with that phase. There was a time in my life, when I just couldn't sleep at all. I was there in my bed, just changing positions all night, I just couldn't sleep at all ! Eyes were closed, but sleep was missing ! My state was such that I was even aware that I was dreaming ! That was a state of absolute misery, if you ask me ...
Now that I look back, I can guess that it was due to excessive mental tension. I have slowly learned not to think too much about any thing and accept things as they are. That attitude has helped me to cure Insomnia naturally ...

There seem to be so many things that trigger insomnia:
    Tension
    Bad bedsheets
    Bloated stomachs
    Sickness
    Sorrow
There just does not seem to be one reason why it happens - but the most common one is always stress and tension.

My trigger is worrying about something, or being excited for something. Basically anything that makes me think.

Stress and money issues definitely can trigger your sleep issues. Find someone to talk to or get to the root of the problem

I know two things are a factor. 1. I'm usually not tired because my body isn't creating melatonin and 2. I am thinking too much. If you can sleep during the day then maybe your body is creating melatonin during the day.

Ya, I agree that this is a main factor in some of the cases of insomnia. I think doctors just don't realize they need to treat the anxiety as well as the other symptoms.

    Television while sleeping

There are such boring shows on at night where you can watch without really thinking much. I know that some people are saying TV and computers keep them awake, but it seems to me falling with the TV on is a really good way to wear out the eyes and to fall asleep (works for me anyways). But I don't have a TV in my room so it isn't convenient enough.
