Falling asleep at inappropriate times and places may be caused by sleep narcolepsy.

Sometimes I fell asleep during the work for about 30 sec. I found this very odd.
Do you think I have narcolepsy?
At least some of my co-workers say so, but I would like to hear your opinion as well.
I am really worried![]()

This may or may not be sleep narcolepsy disorder.
It is common for workers who work less-than-inspiring jobs to fall asleep at their posts for small periods of time, just because their mind is not stimulated enough to justify activity. Basically, your brain says to itself,
"If I'm not doing anything interesting I might as well take this opportunity to sleep."
You should see your doctor just in case, but do not be too concerned unless you fall asleep during fast-paced or interesting activities.
I don't think this is anything. I fall asleep on the job sometimes, everyone does. It's not something to be worried about until, like Jack said, you start falling asleep while watching an action movie or having... certain bedroom activities. If it doesn't get worse, just blame it on lack of sleep the night before or the boring-ness of your job.
It could be related to narcolepsy symptoms.
Anyhow, first I would suggest you reading narcolepsy FAQ, posted on this forum.
I think it's definitely possible. Like Robert Berry said, read up on the causes and symptoms of narcolepsy. You could be experiencing the sleep attacks, when you fall asleep rapidly for short periods of time, often in inappropriate places. Make sure you ask your doctor as well.
This is odd situation sleeping in work or unusually. This may be the symptoms of narcolepsy. Consult sleep specialist or doctor to the earliest.
It could be that your just not sleeping enough at night. If you are sleeping a solid 7-8 hrs at night, then consult a doctor.
How often does this happen and do you feel like you get enough sleep? You have to factor in that information before we can really give any advice. If you're falling asleep every day or while driving etc. then I would say you have a problem.
