    When to see a doctor?

I was just wondering when you can tell the difference between narcolepsy and extreme fatigue? I can fall asleep on the drop of a hat if I sit still for more than 2 seconds but I am uncertain if that is narcolepsy or not. I won't fall asleep in the middle of activities which is what I always associated with the disease. When do you decide the problem is severe enough to consult your doctor?

It is best to be safe rather than sorry, so consult a doctor as soon as possible just to be sure. You may not have narcolepsy, but better to be 100% sure than worrying and wondering if you have it.

BTW are you employed in a line of work that causes Extreme fatigue?

I watch children for a living, does that count as an occupation that causes extreme fatigue? I have epilepsy as well and am not sure if the fatigue is related to that or if it is a separate concern altogether. I will have to bring it up to my neurologist on my next visit.

Hrm, well I do agree with it is better to be safe than sorry. I think if you feel it is a concern that you should go to the Dr. I am sure there are tests that can be done.
