It could be treated by a benzodiazepine drug. Benzodiazepines are a psychoactive prescription medication which works by reducing stage 4 sleep during the night. This has the effect of reducing sleep walking, night terrors, and other parasomnias. The problem is, these can cause serious side-effects and dependency, so they're not very suitable for long-term use.

I never had a problem with sleep walking until I used Ambien to fall asleep. I stopped using it for that reason.
